Products and materials

What are WASTED picks actually made of? Our picks are printed from reclaimed waste material: industrial polymer scrap, failed prints, and post-production polymer that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Every pick keeps that material in use.

Are they durable? How long do they last? Yes. Our picks are made for regular playing. With normal use, a WASTED pick will outlast most standard celluloid or nylon picks. Heavy strummers will still wear them in over time. That's part of the feel.

Which pick is right for me? Short answer:

  • BASS-IC. Heavy bass pick. More mass, wider face, bigger bite.
  • Braille. Raised braille across the face. Two sizes.
  • Haptic. Raised dot texture, broken-in matte feel. Two sizes.
  • Monster Grip. Texture across the full face, no smooth side. Three sizes.
  • Pike. Soft 3mm TPU bass pick. For bass players caught between pick and fingers.
  • Plick. Smooth classic teardrop, no texture. Two gauges.
  • The Mix. Five shapes in one pack.

If you're not sure, start with The Mix. It's the cheapest way to find a favorite.

Do the picks come in different thicknesses? Some do. Plick comes in 1mm and 1.5mm gauges. Haptic, Braille, and Monster Grip come in multiple sizes. Check each product page for what's available.

Jewelry (Aurum and Argentum)

Are the earrings made like the picks? Yes. Aurum and Argentum are both a mini Haptic silhouette, 15 by 17mm, printed in PA (polyamide) and finished in 925 sterling silver. Aurum is gold-plated, Argentum is polished silver. Printed, not cast. Same as every pick we make.

Does my order really include a full-size pick? Yes. Every pair of Aurum and Argentum earrings ships with a full-size Haptic Small pick in the box. Wear the mini, play the full size.

How do I care for the jewelry? Store dry. Wipe with a soft cloth. Remove before showering or swimming to protect the finish.

Are they hypoallergenic? Aurum uses surgical-grade hooks. Argentum is a clip-on, so no piercing needed. If you have sensitive ears, reach out and we can advise.

Custom and wholesale

Do you do custom picks? Sometimes. If you have a specific shape, logo, or concept in mind, especially for bands, shops, or events, email us and let's talk.

Do you sell wholesale? Yes. We work with a small number of retailers who align with the brand. Email us for a wholesale packet.

Sustainability

What exactly is the sustainability claim? Every WASTED pick is made from industrial waste material that would otherwise have been discarded. We don't use virgin plastic for the pick body. Packaging and shipping materials are moving to recycled and recyclable options as we scale.

Are the picks recyclable? Because our picks are made from reclaimed composite material, local recycling systems won't always accept them. Send worn-out picks back to us and we'll find a second life for them.
